How do you come up with your riffs and Melodies?

I just lay down some complex pads. Like, just fucking roll my face all over my keyboard, get some crazy pads, then just make notes that follow the same chord progression. Or in reverse order I just record and strum around on my keyboard. Maybe get something that sounds nice. Find it, delete all the other notes, and clean up the pattern. Make it all nice a cut.

learn new scales and chord progressions. then play them differently. or play a note in piano roll. then scroll the next note up slowly so it plays the notes as you drag. then stop when you think the note sounds good with the first then repeat.

Most times I jam around or sit listening to melodic music until something comes to me that I can then play into Live and clean up afterward. I've also taken bits from some of the orchestral stuff I've done in the past and redone it in a more electronic based setting.

maybe this is gona sound really stupid,,but what i like to do,,,is i go listen to some classic music ,,like ,,chek out mussorgsky - night on bald mountain...or bethovens 5ª sinfonia .or stuff like carmina burana - o fortuna ...ITS REALLY DARK BUT WITH REALLY NICE RIFFS AND MELLODYS THAT GIVE INSPIRATION.TO MAKE SOMETHING ORIGINAL.belive me when ever you have a lac of inpiration classic music is the cure..i mean thats my addvice for everyone...(i know...my english sucks,...sorry)

im gonna try this. but i will need to take some time and learn music theory a bit better before i will be able to execute it nicely...

I do not own a midi-keyboard so I use the piano roll, I find that way easier to use, but I am going to buy me a keyboard soon.

I just start of with something random and try to make it sound cool, then usually something gets up my head and I try to finish it.
