Have given this some thought and discussion before. Decided the best thing to do would be to collect supplies (food, weapons, weed seeds) then steal a boat to sail to the Isles of Scilly and wipe out any remaining zombies over there (if there are any) before setting up a new place to live in peace.

You're crazy if you think you can make it alone, especially given that other people will also be travelling in packs, and supplies will be scarce. Zombies wouldn't necessarily be your biggest worry!

If Dawn of the Dead has taught us anything, is you can live a perfectly decadent if spiritually crippling lifestyle if you take over a shopping mall. Just watch out for biker gangs. And zombies, of course.

Not gonna get on to some US gun debate...but I don't think that'd particularaly stop any country from invading, if it was an invasion situation- in a time like WW2 pretty much every man of fighting age in Europe was trained and in the armed forces or doing some useful work to help the war effort- armed with machine guns/grenades/tanks and whatever and well organised. So you'd only be left with those that can't fight in the army using their wallmart guns, as long as there was some warning the country would arm and train the left over citizens as a last resort anyway- like the home guard style in the UK in WW2.
