i mean we have the heads like addison groove pearson sound loefah etc that we all know and love

but then because we're going in at around 130 we can bring in a selection of techno and house tracks from producers outside of the "uk scene" if you will.

ive never been able to do that before. was always d&b producers on dnb producers or dubstep on dubstep.

now weve got house, funky, techno, tribal, garage, progessive..... dj can come bring a bunch of tunes from a bunch of producers no ones ever heard of in our scene but have been around for time in others.

such an exciting point in music!

that is all.

dunno about that , i found a lot of good tunes from all the release/soundcloud spam and mixes , i would hate to see this forum divided into a sub sub forum

Agreed, and it's not necessarily hyping tunes; I've posted things in here I liked and thought other people might enjoy too,

well yeah its good for the tunes and that, but i think people are saying it a bit one dimensional, maybe having some topics discussing "the scene" aswell or whatevs

mate its the one right now. suddenly dance music is about dancing again and not throwing yourself about like a nutter or producers trying to out produce each other by coming up with the most ridiculous reece bassline!

i've recently been rediscovering pepe braddock. he does heaps of tunes that are really differing in arrangement. typiclly dj sets here in berlin are waayyyy longer, 2-3 hours minimum so it is a refreshing change to hear tunes like this in sets structured a bit more emotively as opposed to 1hour of smashing shit and 5 rewinds. not sayin, just sayin.

This is true and something I have said before on here. Also one reason why I posted giving Josey Rebelle Props- I first heard her on that brilliant boiler room mix. She has a good ear and plays house, tehcno (as in Detroit), garage old and new in dancefloor oriented way- I intend to go and check her spinning soon.

I would like to hear more DJs playing a mixture of house styles (old and new)in a set- (there are so many forgotten and under played tracks)- it is at least a way forward.

When house was first coming through in the UK there was no real distinctions between the styles you would hear say Chicago house alongside the Detroit Techno and New York tracks Royal House\ Todd Terry etc. We also had a dance culture to support that- Perhaps with more people dancing now there is a chance to create a more foundational scene again?

I am not saying there isnt a place for nights where one style of house all night is played - Its just that I find the one style same tempo nights boring.
