The thing i like the most about Ableton so far is

I started in FL, went to reason, then to ableton, then had a look at the reaper demo, now im back to FL strictly due to its ease of use and interface.

This is coming from a guy who used to use FL. If you don't have a Mac, get one and learn Logic Pro. I took the plunge and abandoned FL and dove headfirst into Logic. It is truly an amazing piece of software and and once you get it down, you'll never want to use anything else. There is a reason why so many artists you hear about are using Logic. It's the shit.
I highly recommend you get the Apple Pro series book one though. It will make your workflow super efficient and it'll teach you production stuff too.

even if you learned FL like the back of your hand you'd suggest ditching it for Logic?
whats the main difference with it?

I knew FL Studio pretty well when I bought Logic. Just everything about Logic is superior. The sound of Logic as a whole is better, the instruments and effects that come with it, the workflow, the editing capabilities, everything is just better than other DAW's I've worked with. It is alot like FL Studio in that the Piano Roll is highly intuitive, and it's based around an arrangement window that has alot of editing features. The interface is confusing if you don't know anything about it, as most DAW's are when you first use them, but once you learn all of the keyboard shortcuts and where everything is, you see it for the monster it truly is. Combine that with Komplete 7, and you've got a fucking winner.

You can find a Macbook Pro 13" for under 1000 easy. (

I bought my copy of Logic Studio (brand new) for under 200 on ebay and got Komplete 7 for 400. If you're coming from a Fl Studio background, and want to move up to one of the bigger DAWs, go with Logic. BUT LIKE I SAID, ORDER THE APPLE PRO SERIES BOOK TO GET THE MOST OUT OF IT or you'll be stumbling around like Helen Keller at a... well like Helen Keller in general.

Helen Keller has NEVER been at the butt of a racist joke. Clearly that statement has something to do with her being both DEAF and BLIND.

The only reason i would want to switch is the "live" capabilities of performing live on it, which is a headache to too in FL. Would you guys say its worth learning a whole DAW from scratch just for the live capabilities?
Absolutely, because what you can do in terms of performance with Ableton, you can't do with any other DAW.
And if you DO decide to switch to Live.. Hit me up for a collab, yeah?

I swithced to ableton now, collab?
