I paid quite a bit for some of the coloured vinyl pressings on Basic Channel, can't remember exact amounts off the top of my head though I remember it stinging my bank balance at the time.
Related to that, I remember paying a bit for a mint 80's press of Manuel Göttsching's "E2-E4" as well.

$35 for Coki - Bloodthirst / Chef - Electro Bashment. It took me such a lonnnnnnng time to find a copy. Fuckin' love bloodthirst though, probably my favorite coki song.

That is one crazy tune though!!
also its probably not losing its value if you ever decide to sell it again. reggae vinyl doesn't really tend to do that even if represses are made....
Re: What's the most you've ever paid for a record?
that's because non of the collectors want's repress. i have a quite bit collection of rare first press/pre-release rocksteady, reggae and some ska.Mehlovich wrote:vulvavibration wrote:okay - take a breath...

Re: What's the most you've ever paid for a record?
exactly. I collect too but I don't really care if it's a repress or not. A big tune is a big tune and as long as it has the vinyl sound to it it's all good.vulvavibration wrote:that's because non of the collectors want's repress. i have a quite bit collection of rare first press/pre-release rocksteady, reggae and some ska.

oh you do? have you made any mixtapes or anything so I can have a listen?
Re: What's the most you've ever paid for a record?
i have - but it's really annoying because back in the day i put way too many jingles that's very annoying...Mehlovich wrote:exactly. I collect too but I don't really care if it's a repress or not. My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.
