thumbs up for skrillex's endless positivity and fwd thoughts about the music.

not a fan of his sound but i'd much rather see more discussion about that stuff, rather than the navel-gazing aspects of production.

who said anything about acapellas? what made you post about them in the first place? i thought it was a metaphor, and that you were trying to do the good ol' "wah wah stop discussing other producer's methods because it's not art" shit.
but now you're just confusing me. i mean, even more than you did in the first place.

When you automate these formants what do you make them do? like should they all together or is it really random? Unless he makes a chain in ableton set to specific frequencies. With neuro funk producers is it really random their automations? or do things kind of sway together.

Yeah I laughed hard at that.
They need to fire that editor too haha (or hire one).

I don't understand this obsession at all though. Now there's people spamming threads about his noises on the NI support site.

It's not terribly confusing, look up Trifonic's FM Synthesis 101 tutorials for a start.

Has anyone had any luck creating movement/vowel sounds with these FM8 growls without using an external filter? I can't get Ahh out of it, and that's about it. Any ideas? I know the envelopes play a role in this, but I'm not sure to what extent.

If I had to guess, he's probably just using a rack in ableton, and automating between different vowel chains.

This x100000

I don't know why people make this dude out to be some kind of villain.
I think his biggest problem is everyone trying to categorize his music. I'm sure a lot less people would be pissed off if he didn't consider some of his stuff "dubstep".
That's not to say that more people would enjoy it. I just think it would be easier for some of us to say "I listen to dubstep" without having to worry about the stampede of brostep-related questions that usually follow. :?

I'm just finding the interface hard to work with, to me it doesn't make sense, but then i haven't been working with it so much. Thanks for the tip brah!
