It would be difficult to enforce the minimum posts before submitting tunes in dubs, the same rule in the feedback thread applies and theres a surprising amount of people who just ignore it and post their tunes without giving any feedback at all. In terms of people getting more feedback than others, the only thing i could even throw in is its a stylistic thing, bro producers will always get more listens, and Legend4rys style has a big following round here, From my listens hudson I really do love your stuff its incredibly ambient and thoughtful, but I suppose it is quite a niche style, I remember the first time I listened to that kind of music I just thought what the fucks this and switched datsik back on, Iv come a long way since then though.
I think that at the end of the day, the dubs forum is a kind of representation of the market, therefore certain sounds will always get more love than others, and that won't really change. Im probably wrong on all of this, but I felt the need to give my 2pence anyway.
Btw I only realised Teknicyde was Basic A yesterday, massive facepalm when I worked that out.

I ended up choosing i use it but it needs improvements, Which i mean it does. I think one thing that could really help out is you have Your main link into the dubs forum but then it split off into sub categories.
Maybe split it betwen 2 or 3 groups? It would save all the hassle of looking for specific types of music, kill a lot of the clutter. Most the genres have a main following that you repeatedly see in the same threads, so why not have that all in one designated area? Plus a little categorizing wouldn't be the end of the world. Right now its a cluster fuck of threads and a lot of good good songs get over looked because there are 25 threads posted above it in the same hour. Whatever, my 2 cents.

Problems with dividing by sub genre are;

a) what sub genres do you have?
b) Some people classify their songs differently than others
c) Some tunes are completely unclassifiable.

And, only on DSf will you see such subgenre focus.

Pre-cisely. That lovely bout of naval gazing that can only come about on music based Internet forums :roll:

Same with DnB. Same with breakbeat. Why is it only non 4/4 driven genres that attract the biggest twats? You never see a house forum break down in argument over what is/isn't a particular subgenre. It's just house.

house is one of the worst :lol:

But yeah, dividing into subgenre's would only further the whole all-producer vibe dubs has lately, scare away the last few average listeners one cna hope to reach through posting there... Please no subgenres? Do whatever else really...

Not saying there AREN'T shit loads of house sub genres. It's just that house forums don't generally bicker about it from what I've seen. And at least they're proper descriptive names for their genres - Acid House. Electro House. Funky House. Clear and concise.

What do we have? Dungeon. Bro. Purple. Sounds like a bunch of retarded Teletubbies.

I currently dont use it but thats because i dont have the internet on my computer atm so cant listento others music.

Surely if you have the views and listens but no comments then they dont like it? if i heard a brilliant tune id have to comment.. but id feel less inclined to if it was wank.

Might be a silly idea but how about something similar to the demo panel but on a bigger scale like a bunch of 20 volunteers whos job it is to give feedback? change the colour of their name to make them feek a bit important and all lol.

Fine in principle but;

a) Hard to implement
b) Who decides who gets to be one of the 20?
c) What if one or more of the volunteers fails to pull their weight?

Split the Dubs forum into Genres like -

Deep
Dungeon (not to sure whether this'd fall under deep)
Chilled
Filth
Techno
House
Garage
Hip-Hop
Misc. (obviously if this gets full of shit, it'll have to go)

i just think if it was more categorized I'd actually visit that section alot more then i do now (hardly ever)

Even though around here we dont like to much 'Ruling' that [FEEDBACK] / [320] tag was a good idea.
unfortunately looking over at the most recent page now, it seems Kaori is the only one to have posted this tag correctly.
I suggest, to put in the rules, 'if your thread title aint neat and tidy, it'll get deleted'

i dont want to see 'My first pure dubz ch00n!!!11!' every 3 threads. its like walking into early learning center.

I had this idea myself, but tbh that would be fucking heavy job with the amount of new threads that are added every day.

Or people who post their tunes then act like dicks when you comment. Case in point;

going on cigarette break just so i can listen to loud risers track
and add my 2p.

i saw someone earlier (would go and find out who, but on the verge of pissing myself, so typing very fast) said post limit before entering in the dubs section.

not gonna lie this could be a very very good idea.
wouldn't get all the 1-5 post counts posting in there LFO's.

25 post minimum. :d

Again, nice idea but in practice you'd get a load of people posting "Nice!" or "I agree!" style posts just to ramp their count up with inane babble.

A chin scratcher this thread is.

as i said in my first post here, sub sections for different genres.
if filth gets put in deep, just gets moved.

that would make a big difference full stop.
