There is absolutely no 3rd person in the game, so yes the animations look much much better from the first person, the combat feels incredibly satisfying..pikeymobile wrote:Are the animatimations different on the proper version though? The video I posted is from the dev version, hence the greater number of bugs.

I said they look better from the first person. Not that they were different.borrowed wrote:look at your shadow and throw some punches, the animations are the same as in the dev video

Re: Dead Island
I've got this game on dowload now and can't wait for it to finish.
Zombies...
Skill trees...
Leveling...
What more could you want from a game.

Genuine lol from 4.15 onwards with the character animation and the players response.
Re: Dead Island
btw if you ever find yourself cornered by 4-5 zombies, just mash the kick button over and over. hits faster than almost any attack and knocks them down

what the fuck is going on in this video
Re: Dead Island
I love the zombie survival horror genre but this game looks really poorly executed and doesnt excite me at all. The graphics of the environment look pretty nice but the animation, combat and gameplay look really bad.

exactly my thoughts... i can imagine it getting terribly repetitivefaust.dtc wrote:I love the zombie survival horror genre but this game looks really poorly executed and doesnt excite me at all. The graphics of the environment look pretty nice but the animation, combat and gameplay look really bad.
Re: Dead Island
Informative review from the Gamecentral crew. they gave it a 5/10 - http://www.metro.co.uk/tech/games/87441 ... ppy-trails
Main issues seem to be multiplayer (not an issue for a isolated bastard such as myself), shoddy melee combat and the fact that items respawn and can be therefore be used as XP mines, which detracts massively from the survival horror aspect.
Fair, those last 2 are pretty big issues.
