Why all the hate? This dude looks like he's LOVIN what he's doing, and all you guys can say is how stupid he is. Yes I admit that the stupid branding of "The Dubstep Bass" is stupid, but that's not the guy's whole persona, an ignorant douchebag. Just look at him, he's rocking out.

hahaha

I remember when "the dubstep bass" was just called the "that annoying jump-up dnb lead".

Spectrasonics wanted to chill with Izotope and their T-Pain plugins in the jokes zone?

Chad, the 2nd post that made sense from you. :W:
Everyone can say what they want and hate all they want.
He is enjoying himself, making Dubstep.
Which is after all what we're all here for.
He has a good sound there and is demonstrating how to create it with Omnisphere.
It`s not to every ones liking but it is a means to an end.

If you own Omnisphere or have used it, you`d know how powerful it sounds.
The library alone is second to none.
Folks bitch because it`s a rompler, but it`s a rompler with full synthesis capabilities.
Endless amounts of sounds to create.
Not only that but the live performance value of the synth is great.

Don`t hate just because they`re using a method that everyone recognizes to demo their synth.
It`s called advertising.

I think that's the main thing that irked people about this?
Besides it being totally ridiculous of course.

I agree he`s a bit of a wop, that`s not really the point of the video though.
Everyone missed the point and then proceeded to try and slate Omnisphere.

So does everyone feel that this video was a waste of time?
I thought it was a waste purely because he`s just showing you how to create a basic lfo wobble.
That however is not really the point.
The fact that it is possible would be news to some.
Not to mention, the methods used are not necessarily the same as let`s say Massive.

I certainly won`t hate on Omnisphere or the dude in the vid.
I`ve seen some piss poor efforts in here that sound 10000x worst.

I don't hate it, I just thought it was in hilariously bad taste. Won't stop me from buying spectrasonics or anything.
Advertising I do hate though yeah, but it's a company with something to sell, fair play. It's just one of those blatant "let's try to exploit this new niche market real quick" things.

sure the dude's having a good time showing off an amazing synth, but come on. really? this video is one of the most absurd things I've ever seen. were those visual effects really necessary at all? made it seem like a freaking joke.

just want to add, Omni is NOT a rompler. It does have the sample based sound sources but also has a real synth engine, which on its own is really fucking good. Then the rompler side of it adds all the bits that a synth couldn't, and allows you to layer that with your synthesis. Each patch can have two layers, you can have up to ten patches per instance, and they can either be multi-channel MIDI, or in "Stack" mode, they will all be layered and controlled by the same MIDI channel. multi outs for each patch, or use the onboard mixer if you prefer. So basically you could have up to ten different patches running on one synth, or, you could have a patch with up to twenty layers of synthesis or sample-based, and near-infinite mixing possibilities.
Omni is really the shit.

Triology by them ive heard is great for bass also.

Also as far as the video goes its not that bad if youve ever been to a soundexpo or musicmessa.

cant wait for the Complextro-glitchstep-bass vst next year tho!

I use Trilogy for pretty much all my subs. Got it after I read the XLR8R interview with Mala where he said that he always uses that one haha
