Can't stand bourbon tastes, some are ok and decent mixed but generally too corn/sweet/weird tasting to enjoy straight.
White Russian, but can't have more than a couple. Too rich.
Rum+coke. Appleton is usually a winner.
Weed too but I stopped smoking for a couple months. Will probably resume soon though.

for sure, many bourbons can be too sweet. but i still like a couple. ryes however... so much bite and so flavorful. i'd say my least favorite is canadian whiskey. shit is gash. anyway, all the cocktails that go with a good rye like a post prohibition sazerac.. or a good old fashioned or a perfect manhattan with FRESH vermouth. *drools*

I like spirits, but in particular I love mead and port. My pride and joy is a bottle of 20 year old port.

But mostly I've been drinking rum at home lately. Diplomatico, Plantation, Captain Morgan Reserve for sipping, Gosling and Doorly's for mixing with Coke.

I just enjoy smelling Mozart (Dry) for it's amazing pure chocolate aroma. I have a small bottle of Nikka Japanese Whisky which is at cask strength (53%?) that tastes really nice and goes down smooth.

When I'm out, I'll usually have some beer or ale or cider, depending on the night. No more than 4 pints, after that I'm strictly on spirits. In clubs, it's double vodka lemonade, beer is too gassy for me to skank about with.

Ive been a big fan of new york sours.

2 and 1/2 oz rye/bourbon whiskey
egg whites (1 egg should do)
about a teaspoon of sugar
the juice of 1/2 a lemon
and a nice malbec or port to crown on top.

shake the egg whites, the sugar, the booze and the juice vigorously (the egg needs to be emulsified). pour in a rocks glass and crown the drink with the malbec or port on top as a float. the egg gives the drink a foamy smooth texture. absolutely delicious. throw a couple macerated cherries (no maraschino cherries) on top to garnish if you feel the need.

Beer and/or cider are the standard drinks and once suitably intoxicated jagerbombs tend to make an appearance. Special mention for Rum n Coke whenever I drink at an RSA.
