I do this ... it's really enjoying to play your own tunes but never the same way, so each time is uniquelegend4ry wrote:It depends on the set up of the producer.. Some people play loops together on Ableton (they'll make 30+ stems and mess around with the, with midi triggers and stuff!)

Sweet, cheers man! I'll have to look that up!ogunslinger wrote:I believe they actually sync their 3 laptops together (magnetic man) and each of them are using some sort of automap tech (forgot witch one? maybe it was the novation... can't really remember though....) and they do on-the fly edits and what not? I can't remember if it was an interview or a youtube video but it looked pretty dope! check it out, my facts may be a little off, as I read/watched this quite awhile ago!
Re: Playing own produced tunes live
If im djing alone i jsut dj my tunes into a set and try to keep a cohesive thought continued through the entire set.
When i perform with my buddy we use a guitar and some live synths which we play over and with our own tunes plus other tunes. Sometimes this works beautifully and we rage hard. SOmetimes it falls apart cause the sound guys cant get us monitored right lol.

What function does the guitar hero controller serve other than holding the kaossilator?
Btw when I first started I used a kaossilator and a nanokontrol for my live setup too.

I use it as a MIDI controller to control Ableton...allows me to do some stuff a lot faster than the nanokontrol
