If you decide to pursue individual theory/DAW/whatever lessons - I might be able to help you out. I'm in the West Midlands - and I teach teach everything from classical cello to music theory to production techniques, etc..

Piano Lessons: Faber. This series is great. I'm doing the "For the Older Beginner" series. Each book is like 10 bucks. Not too bad.
The best thing to do is do things for free. I used to make rap beats and writing lyrics and I'd just email them to random people I know.
Contact Jack from Caramel Carmela. They do a lot of shows out in Colorado and New Mexico and all. He lets people make remixes of their music and knows ALOT of electronic producers/artists like. I'd give you his email but I haven't talked to him since MySpace days.
But yeah, just contact ALOT of people. They don't have to be famous.
But since your pretty biased on genres, there's not much I can help you with. I don't know too many people in those genres. John Zagata is the only talent manager I have contacts for but most of his clients are rap/pop.

Get yourself a portable mic and go to a forest. Record yourself hitting trees with sticks and stuff like that. INSTANT KRYPTIC MINDS.
