i don't care what you think. i actually have self control and turn down doing drugs quite often compared to many of my friends. you might get the wrong impression based off this forum, but after all, its just a forum. but really its quite simple, i can get through day to day without needing or even wanting drugs. sure sometimes i like to enjoy some but fuck I'm in college and my window of hammering out random chicks and doing drugs is getting smaller and smaller by the day, so why the hell not take advantage of it while she's wide open? literally.

nah he won't bang it. he's been doing them on and off for years. but he's afraid of needles and can't even watch the part on jackass where they give each other paper cuts between the toes.

like i said he does a combination of eating them, snorting them, and smoking them. he usually smokes them unless he has a lot of them and then he'll do a combination of ingestions, but he mostly likes to smoke them.

but yeah i pretty much knew there wasn't much i could do. he says he's going to try to quit so thats good. but do you guys think its bad to be friends with someone like this?

set up an drug deal with him (make sure he knows you will not be beating him up and stealing his money). when u go to buy drugs instead of give him money you beat him up and steal his money(this will be a surprise and he wotn see it coming). then tell him that the things he does hurts and its time he sees that(he will likely be in an emotional stage(do not make fun of him be nice)). he will mroe than likely apologize. offer your shoulder to cry on, tell him it will be ok(after all he will always love you)

how is Adam taking his stuff? is he CWEing to get rid of the paracetamol/APAP? or is he just munching loads of pills? either way he'll be doing massive amounts of damage to his liver and to the lining of his stomach.

also, how long has this progressed for? the longer he takes that shit, the harder it will be to come off of it. and the longer he takes it the more weight he'll lose and the more bullshit he'll get himself in.

ask him this: does he see himself in 10 or 20 years time still taking opiates and ignoring what is actually going on in his life? it will make him not care NOW but at some point he will have to deal with his problems.

but there is only so much you can try to help one guy. if he refuses help, cut him loose for a while. he'll perhaps realise he is losing people he holds dear.

Solid advice, but I know losing friends and burning bridges was a price I was willing to pay to get what I needed, which was a sense of relief. It wasn't until those things stopped working for me that I became willing to take the action necessary to change. I've known guys who've been to more than 20 rehabs and can't quit for more than a week (one of my buddy's got shot through the neck while trying to cop dope, and was back at it again within a week. My experience and some of the guys I've seen tells me that no amount of external consequences is going to make me change. My family (and friends for that matter) showed me nothing but love and took all sorts of action (my parents spent a ridiculous amount of money sending me to rehabs), but it wasn't until I was ready that I actually changed. My advice would be to let him know your feelings. But that suggestion comes with a caveat: Are you willing to risk the friendship to let him know how you feel about these things? Anyways, best of luck.

IMO it's only bad to be friends with him if you don't tell him constantly how fucked up what he's doing is, and if you enable him. Is he a real friend or a drug buddy? Did you guys ever hang out before drugs? If he really wants to stop, he will have to stop hanging out with people he did drugs with for a good while as there's an association there and the brain actually picks up on this, it starts "preparing" your body for being high so that makes using more likely. I'm sure you know that anticipation feeling I'm talking about.

Don't rat him out to his family though, that never ends well. That's last resort type stuff for when he's sucking off guys for a rock.

Haha my friend was afraid of needles too until he shot up for the first time, now he loves them and will bang any drug he can find including alcohol. What's weird is he collected them like pets or trophies, he had hundreds of used ones.

^ yeah thats rough. even though he's never screwed me over, i still will not ever trust him with any decent sum of money while he's like this.

and yes we did hang out before drugs. we were just normal friends in college and drank together and hung out sober as well. then he got into pills and i just do em occasionally. we hangout together sober even still, but we do also do some pills together, but for me its just every once in a while.
