I find myself collecting real snare drums. A 14x5,5 birch snare can provide you with a wide range of different snare sounds. Get some different hoops, different kinds of batters and you have a sample factory at your hands, royalties free. A deep and thick maple snare with a double batter head should sound great as a brostep snare with a clap and white noise on it.

I like being creative though :) going out into the forest and clapping birch sticks together is just cool

Also those snares seem expensive

Nah but I can run with it, and do other creative things LIKE it. And it was a creative idea, so Im saying I like the creativity behind it
