Being Straight Edge isn't about forcing your life style to other people, unless you are hanging out with some fucking tnuc crew. Been edge my whole life, my best friends use weed. I hang out with anyone, I just can't stand addicts / fanatic religious people.

If you do not have extensive experience with more mild psychedelic drugs than you should not smoke DMT your first time tripping.

Not doing drugs is not about being a better or healthier person. It's about being totally concious of the world around you, it's to be in full contact with reality. It's not always a good thing, most part of the time not being numb is just painful but it's worth it. That's what the whole no drugs is about, but most of people seem to think that straight edge is a religion and you should witch hunt addicts / drug users. You don't know what's better for other people

Actually psyclobin, the active ingredient in mushrooms is now proven to have long term beneficial effects on your brain. THC has plenty of medical benefits as well. Sure there are life demolishing drugs but not all of them are this way. For example DMT and LSD have absolutely 0 negative effects on your body. DMT is a naturally occurring chemical that is released every night when you sleep. Every dream you have is a DMT trip. Congratulations you're all drug addicts by nature. Even you Hircine.

Thank you for this reasonable response. While for the most part, hallucinogens will cause little harm to most people, there have been and will be issues with various individuals in varying circumstances. Also, just because Joe Rogan stated it in a sentence as fact does not mean that the theorized possibility of DMT being responsible for varying functions of dreaming, is true. McKenna never did any type of peer reviewed conclusive testing that proved this.
