One of the reasons I like banking with Barclays (not sure if any other banks have this for online banking) is the PINsentry device, similar to what we have at work. Generates an 8 digit one time password. Keylogger can look at what I just typed in if it wants, it won't work again.
HSBC started doing this a while back, great idea.

Got some email from Barclays about a month or so ago, where they're looking at changing it. Hope they give the option to keep it, they had some comments from customers complaing that it took to long to log in. Literally takes me about 15 seconds to put the card in, enter my pin, and type in 8 digits, but people would rather use a probably really easy to guess password than have a safer account. :u:

That MET Ransomware must be doing the rounds atm, i've had it as well within the last 2 weeks. Same method as most used (safe mode+Malwarebytes) cleared it. Nothing will ever top my friends PC that had over 4000 issues detected when he scanned it though

You don't even know the half of it. He referred to himself as "The Connoisseur".

All the banks in the UK moved over to the system some time ago. However, it was proven a couple years ago that the protocol they use isn't actually as secure as it ought to be because they decided to leave out a few additional safeguards.

One of my mates used to retain quarantined virus-containing files. We had 4 of our PCs on a LAN in my living room. Some twats decided it was a good idea to go rummaging through his PC for porn. Including the Quarantine folder.

Next day, 4 dead PCs with unrecoverably flashed BIOSes. That was nasty.
