I bet if you asked any of them if they enjoyed their job they'd say they didn't... being idle is amazingly overrated... I had 3 months off on full pay the other year when I was waiting for my consultancy to find me a new contract... wasn't at all good for the soul! I was properly grumpy after about a week!

I could definitely do with summa that right now. Having said that, I''ve mostly been sitting around the past month not doing much and looking for stuff to do and annoying people who do have stuff to do.

Hmmm. Thinking back to ym previous post - not so sure managing bars / restaurants is a career per se... maybe in a few years when I'm teaching abroad I'll be able to report back with more satisfaction... until then - 'meh!'.

I have been working as an activity instructor for the past two years, I love it... so much variety, so much fun and very rewarding. It's not a career though. I sometimes think maybe it's time to think about a career but i'm only 21 I'm playing the rule of being free till i'm 25.

What is does an activity instructor do? Tell people to move from pose to pose, give them little jobs to do?

Keep getting shot down in interviews for corporate positions, with the growing realisation they aren't suited to me. Wtf does that leave?

I just want a middling wage and a job that doesn't make me completely numb and alienated dammit
I'm in my 2nd year of my Economics degree and i've decided i definitely don't want a job in it. I'm pretty good at it and i find it interesting sometimes.. but other times i just think "fuck doing this for a living for the rest of my life".

Just gunna do another degree, build up an insane amount a debt and stay a student forever.

I enjoy it but it's insanely hard work. (Learning to be a plasterer as a labourer)

An old colleague of mine's Dad was a plasterer... when he left school, the idea was for him to join the family business, but he lasted about a week... got in a massive strop, ruined someone's ceiling and immediately enrolled himself on an IT course.

Skilled plasterers deserve their cash - props!
