oh agreed. and air superiority > Surface to Surface missle power.

i had to learn hand to hand combat in the military... and then proceeded to work on a base whose primairy goal is to launch aircraft from thousands of miles away that never gets within a mile of the enemy
god damn it i hate text communication. i was sarcastic when writing that! just because a piece of technology such as a cruise missile or an aircraft with that kind of technology is made, does not mean forms of martial arts or training in hand to hand combat is obsolete.

but it does.... even during my time in afghanistan the reports of hand to hand confrontation was beyond minimal. There were very few scenarios (in the grand scheme of things) where soldiers were within 500 yards of each other.

The whole theology of modern military is to keep servicemen as far away from harm as possible.... thus air superiority rules the modern world.

ok so lets take this out of a military conflict. maybe thats why i am having a problem understanding this thought process because i didnt think that these women training would even be allowed in the military in iran. i dont think the intent of the ninjas were to protect against other military forces, it seemed like they were a built-from-the-ground-up force used to protect communities, kinda like (sorry to use the comparison) minute men. thats how i perceived it. this also does not negate the possible usage of small arms to "protect their borders" as the article said.

pretty much my point. if you were to consider the idea of a nuke, or any other massive destructive weapon developing, why does the military still make infantry, and many other forms of the military train in hand to hand combat? why evasion school for weeks? you can just nuke the enemy, by your logic. yet the military across the world still insists on hand to hand combat training. there is different situations for it all. that's the point, and that's why nevalo's cruise missile vs. ninja claim is as i said, silly.
