I just think it's hypocritical to say something like that while you yourself obviously believe what the author of the bible was telling you. And if you go to church, what the preacher is telling you in his speeches. Who says that they are correct?

Hate to break it to you, but theres an overwhelming amount of evidence for evolution. You honestly think the creation story in the Bible is "logical"?

And yeah, sometimes science is wrong. But it keeps working to try and get things right and admits when it's wrong. That contrasts sharply to religion which just maintains something is still correct despite mountains of evidence pointing to the contrary.

Phigure I wasn't talking to you. Your qoute got copied by mistake. Yes, it says Four Courners. It doesn't say its Flat. Its an expression to mean "to the ends of the Earth" which is something even we say today, with full knowledge that a circle has no ends.

If I said "I was online all day and am sick of it, I reached the End of the Internet" you realize I don't mean it literally. You can't haphazardly apply the rules of language, idiom, and context, when it fits, or disregard normal figures of speech just to make a book you don't agree with overly-literal.

i have read the bible many times (as well as other holy books)

there might be a lack of truth to them in terms of history or science, but there are great stories to learn from with good lessons imo. it's important to understand religions as well as they control so much of our lives whether we ascribe to them or not

to the OP: the reason people today get offended is because it is honestly what they believe to be true and it often can take a priority on their life, since this life is not much compared to the eternal paradise they seek. This involves faith, and faith is not something easily lost through reasoning imo
