Synth tip for Ableton users:
Been bouncing out all the really nice synth lead patches I've made into Ableton's sampler, all of them stacked on top of eachother.
Set the chain selector so that all take up their own spot (for non ableton users - this just means that the sampler only plays the patch the selector is currently assigned to, and you can move this up and down to select which patch is played back).
Programme in the midi notes, such as an arp pattern.
Automate the chain selector - now a different synth patch is being triggered according to the automation, you can make some really nice and complex interactive melodies.

I figured out that it's pretty cool to be able to use massive's envelope tool on other parameters, using the delay knob and a fast attack. If I'd ever wanted to do this before I'd have either used a macro or a slow attack, but that sounds sloppy compared to the delay knob.

:dunce:

Super experimental.

I have a thread here discussing the track, and offering you the chance to remix it, more details in thread! See what you can come up with!

I was trying to experiment with reeces that aren't reeces... I bounced down a few basslines from finished songs of mine... then doubled them and detuned them 15 cents each in opposite directions... either shit or gold resulted.

I've been messing with reeses a lot this week. I've learned that it's better to take a sound and process it into a reese, it'll always sound more interesting. And I've also discovered a really nice effects chain that makes basically any reese sound super crunchy :)

not as much learned but had a loads of good results resampling, resampling, resampling.

combined with multiple distortion units, careful EQ'ing, sometimes with 10+layers of resampling got me some ridiculously huge sounds.

I had a sound design day and wanted to see how far I could take it, sometimes its pure shit, but other times, you can take a sound that has some potential and turn it into a monster

Sometimes an envelope is more useful than an LFO.

As much as making tunes is important, networking with other producers is just as important.
Create good music and people will listen and like.

If you tune your drums by EQing sometimes it sounds better than adjusting the transpose of the sample.
