I've always secretly had this weird obsession with Maroon 5. The more pop sounding their stuff is the more I seem to like it. Even though I tend to generally really dislike the majority of pop music out there.




Also, just to go a little off topic. I think Chris Cornell should cover every pop song ever made.

Nothing wrong with pop tracks - especially those that come from interesting origins musically. My track started off as an attempt to do a West Coast - styled "poppin" track (poppin form of breakdancin) , but mutated into something else.

**Edit - in fact, though my track sounds NOTHING like this... this track & battle was my primary inspiration...

I can't stand Drake either. Lots of people are on about him and I just don't see the appeal. Even The Weeknd couldn't make me like a Drake song.

@ this. i really don't mind saying i like some of the stuff that we're all supposed to like. but seriously, no joke, i really feckin hate most of the rap that is coming out. it's just so trashy and fake. they shout out so many brands that i'm not even sure if i'm listening to an advertisement or what. and if they're not doing that it's directionless aggression and alpha male BS. i know i'm generalizing but i wouldn't want my kids listening to that stuff.

i enjoy a fair spot of the RnB side of pop stuff, plus i don't mind some taylor swift, beyonce, pink used to be all right. t-pain, you know he had some really catchy music as well. even tho his lyrics were horrible. i'm glad the era of overautotune is waning.
