Re: Flathunting in and around LONDON
hahaaaaa i love that graph. i am right in the middle of moving from tottenham to stoke newington. i'm not sure how well i will take to hanging around stokey/dalston/shoreditch but it's better than nothing...
was looking south but clapham was ridiculously expensive, i looked at a place near loughborough junction that was less than half the size of the room i'm moving out of, in a complete shithole in very nearly the middle of nowhere... another place a bus ride from elephant and castle that was literally a solitary house in the middle of an industrial estate, that didn't have central heating. both the same price as where i'm moving to, about 40pcm more expensive than where i'm living now (can't really recommend seven sisters - it's a bit grim and fuck all [good] happens there). after that i kind of gave up. to be honest i was hoping south london was cheaper than it is. but whatever, my new flat is fucking amazing, so so happy with it. a bit too happy tbf, but the place i'm moving out of is so grimy and shit and depressing it's unreal

bumping this.
Me and a mate are looking to rent somewhere west(ish) for Uni next year (sept this year onwards). At the moment all roads lead to Acton or Ealing but i don't want to live in either of them cos it will be too hard getting home after nights out etc. Shepherds Bush would also be ideal but those start at 1400 a month in most cases.
Our budget is a grand a month between us. Can't be anywhere East as I go to Uni in Uxbridge so furthest place would be Marylebone or something

I think your chances of being stabbed are pretty high no matter where you live.idontreallygiveashit wrote:Where's the cheapest i can move without a high risk of getting stabbed?

That's a valid question.

its so dark. Prices are just ridiculous but it has to be done cos it's my final year. Were still looking West but I'm getting a bit worried to be honest. Uni starts on the 1st of October but we need to move up in the next couple of weeks and haven't found anything yet really.noam wrote:fuck me a grand a month between two people can get you a loft studio in central manchester

hahaaaa
acton shouldn't be too bad to get home you know, check what the night buses are. it's zone three innit?
i'm actually thinking of moving already. i like where i'm living but i won't be able to afford it after i graduate and inevitably become unemployed - it's like 20pw more than housing benefit. so i'm thinking of moving down south again. really not sure where i can go that is that cheap though without having to get rid of most of my stuff and live like a monk in a shed.
eurgh east london on the map looks like its been colonised by space aliens

Cus street crime ennit, i'm very muggable. I sort of meant all crime, where's the cheapest and i can go and still remain relatively safe? "Best Value", if you want.
