it doesn't work very well for such an obvious reason, theres always going to be frequencies other than the ones you're playing when working with a guitar.nowaysj wrote:What happened w this?
It can work ok with thumb picking, but its still a bit too wonky to serve its purpose.
Re: Is this even possible?
Can you spread the tuning on your guitar, like 3, 4 octaves? T'would probably work better as a trigger.

I think you mean the tuning on the band splitter? And yea, I simplified it to 3 bands with a gap in between each.nowaysj wrote:Can you spread the tuning on your guitar, like 3, 4 octaves? T'would probably work better as a trigger.
The issue is that using a pick is essentially like adding a pitch envelope with an insanely short decay, and thumbing the strings defeats the purpose, which was applying my groovy picking skills to pure electronic music production. Otherwise I could just assign them to keys and accomplish the same rhythms my thumb is capable of, more easily.
Re: Is this even possible?
I just have this fucked up personality that wants to realize any old bad idea, as a sort of challenge...
And naw, was referring to tuning the guitar, purely as a trigger... Maybe try a transient shaper, to remove that initial pick click, anyway.
