Obviously I'm being facetious.laurend wrote:Most professionals will simply ask for a PCM version of the file.knobgoblin wrote:Followed by a quick punch to the clients face, just for good measure
I'm just illustrating the point that anything other than full resolution files is unacceptable from a professional point of view
Re: Why WAV mastering?

Ah, thanks nowaysj. I don't hang here much anymore and don't know the cast of characters, but I'm glad you're on trollwatch
Re: Why WAV mastering?
Am always on troll watch. Fwiw, I think much of it is language barrier. I'm hoping that at least.

Re: Why WAV mastering?
Sweet, I really need to try one out. Lemme know what you think when it arrives!
Re: Why WAV mastering?
I will. If you're still in the Bay, you're welcome to try it out down here. I'd be happy to visit you as well if you're still about. I'm sure I wouldn't mind fiddling a few of your knobs, no homo.

Re: Why WAV mastering?
Many OS have easy ways of seeing information in .wavs relative to .aiff (open in QT or iTunes is a drag) The AIFF file has identical quality but many people like .bwf "Broadcast wav" as well. It is a good standard as well as being high resolution.
