Bethlehem-

Weakling, epic, the first and for me the best North American hipster BM band (ie Fauna, Wolves in the throne room, Liturgy, Velvet Cacoon etc) Members of the Fucking Champs :

Krieg - Patrick Bateman EP is fucking stupid in a brilliant way, Black Witchery/Conqueror style lofi wall of sound:

speaking of Black Witchery, every one of their tracks sound exactly the same ie totally amazing:

Weltmacht are one of my favourites, Neil from Krieg and Akhenaten ieJudas Iscariot greatest NA black metal band ever:

Sterbend, great Burzum rip-off ie suicidal band:

This video looks like they're taken the piss, they're not. They're amazing. balls to the wall riffs from Sweden. you can't have a good bm track without a maniacal laugh

for suicidal depressive black metal also check out: Nyktalgia, Wigrid, Abyssic Hate (also dodgy NSBM mind but'suicidal depression' is essential), Cold World, Forgotten Tomb, Beatrik

my favourite genre, Finland has some great BM bands too! Satanic Warmaster, Horna, Beherit, Archgoat even Moonsorrow (more pagan/viking tho)

I can understand someone not liking black metal, but if you don't like Wolves in the Throne Room there's something seriously wrong with you.

I personally like Liturgy, but I understand they're quite controversial in the BM community.

The elitist bullshit in the Black Metal scene is hilarious.

Anyways, I used to be a big fan of this album.

I refused to believe that any lyrics were actually written for this album though.

First time in ages I've sat down and listened to 'Autumn Aurora' by Drudkh all the way through and it's still every bit as beautiful as it was before. o.o They've gotten a rep similar to like.. Weakling's or WITTR's or VC's lately.. despite not being US but I duncare. Hell, why would I? 'Dead As Dreams' is probably still my favorite straight up metal album.

Next up, the Swan Road <3 Or Blood Of Kingu...

corpsepaint is about 20 levels lower than the shit GWAR gets up to.

& their music is a million miles away from BM

I like black metal. Can't listen to it in the summer though.

Also one day I just want to spend a day dressed all up in corpse paint and shit but just do really normal stuff like go Tesco.
