saw that recently after it had been heartily recommended... found the segments about theoretical physics interesting, but the cheesy romantic storyline kinda ruined it for me
it was decent, nothing to write home about imo, probably would have appreciated better if it hadnt been pitched as "this awesome movie i absolutely have to watch" tbh
Romantic storyline wasn't THAT cheesy, it was his step-sister lol. Still a better option than the other 2 women though, the mental depressed one or the asian one who he literally no connection with, fuck that for a laugh

I do the exact opposite. I know the Godfather is a great film, but I never watched it.
Funny to see hundreds of references but never the original.

Korean film is incredible. So if you haven't exhausted that - go for it.

Particularly the chaser (!) and yellow sea, memories of murder and ofcourse old boy.

Same haha. Seen bits and pieces over the years, but never actually sat down and watched it from start to end. Being a film geek I feel this is some kind of sin, it makes me feel naughty.

noam watch this

It was Gaspar Noe - I Stand Alone
something about the quality of the dysfuntion in the film really disturbed me ...

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2LrPPzQhkM" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

the second one I may have problems identifying because I was living in Philly at the time - so it may not show up on my netflix history..
I had a great video store just down the block...

It was super experimental - full on arthouse thing...in black & white
where they took these really old burnt clips from an editting room floor and a dark noise soundtrack...

It showed children - probably orphans - walking in pairs through an abbey or church courtyard
- and they were being guarded or chaperoned or directed by nuns...

It was just a vision of hell

Download and watch the TV series called Freaks and Geeks. I believe it is directed by Judd Apatow and has a lot of the cast from films such as: Knocked Up, Superbad, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Pineapple Express, etc.

Freaks and Geeks is amazing, way better than all those movies that's for sure. Really great characters and writing. The 'spiritual successor' to that was Undeclared which was also good but not nearly as legendary.

Seth Rogen is one the shittest actors, it amazes me how he's got past auditions and he's about as funny as Saudi Arabia.

The Room is one movie I'll never get tired of rewatching, you keep finding new bits of genius hidden behind the lines every time you watch it

Yeah he's thoroughly annoying. Pretty much riding on the stoner popularity bit I think. He wasn't in Freaks and Geeks that much, a smaller supporting role playing a dickhead.

YOU'RE TEARING ME APART SETH.

Worm - more on why it is sad. It's sad, cause, I don't know, seems like I don't get that much more on subsequent views, for most films. When I watch a film for the second time, I get more if it is a really quality film, but even then, that more isn't enough to really hold my interest, when other forms of entertainment, or study (lulx10) are available.

That's why I like waiting a long time. You get a chance to kind of really forget the film, and experience it as a new person. Seems I'm a new person about every 5-7 years. Just like to keep it fresh, homie.

Also- words, mf words! I love words. But I really like them in print. I don't like them in songs (I can do with a little chitter chatter, or rapping that is kind of straight up) or in movies. Music and sound are just so beautiful, it always seems to me that words, or more, the meaning they carry is so insignificant next to the magnitude of sounds and music. And same with films. I really like to watch and listen, but words are just so shallow, man. :gearslutz hippieflower spinny eye guy:

Yeah I get you, but I like to view it from different 'perspectives' if you will. Like last time I watched Aliens a few days ago I pretty much ignored the dialogue and just paid attention to the music and sound effects. I don't necessarily sit there and watch, sometimes it's a background noise type thing.
