I will choose a key and I will use any note in that key in my melodies, even sometimes going flat from my root note for that evil sound. transitioning melodies is simple. listen to protest the hero and take note of all the different melodies there are and how they flow. They stick two completely different melodies in the same key together all the time and it is superb
