Yes. This ones good, although I do have an unhealthy interest in prison documentaries.

I still watch these sometimes, they always seem to be showing repeats on dave right around the time i get home from work. His attempts to fit in with the locals are always good for a laugh

It's jokes man. Classic good guy vs dick head story!

Watched a Bobby Fischer documentary not too long ago as well, can't remember the name but would definitely recommend.

Another weird/intriguing one:
Hands on a Hard Body - Bunch of nutcase Americans with no lives participate in an endurance competition to win a car. Whoever can hold their hand on the body for the longest wins.

I'm a sucker for WW1/WW2/izan docs....if anyone's got any non-obvious suggestions, fire away! Particularly WW1 :)

I can't really get bored of them to be honest, i have this mega dvd boxset of all the ones he's ever done, like 30 discs or something, and they get rinsed all the time.

Also
Pumping Iron - Schwarzenegger is a massive tnuc (i'm not talking about his physical size)
Victoria Cross Heroes - Stiff upper lip, chaps!
Decisive Weapons - How advances in technology won battles throughout the ages. All the way through the English longbow and Japanese Samurai sword to the Hawker Hurricane and Stealth Bomber.

Apocalypse: the second world war. Don't know if that's obvious or not, I don't watch all that many documentaries, but it's amazing. Entirely composed of narrated WW2 colour footage.

Botany of Desire
Ages of Empire: The Medicis
Note by Note: The Making of Steinway L1037
Imelda
Lagerfeld Confidential
BBC Story of India
Cry of the Snow Lion

If you like Anthony Bourdain, you will like Karl Lagerfeld...
He is like - the older, slightly fruitier, european version of him...

The Imelda documentary was really eye opening - I had no idea what was going on over there...
and this doc shows both her camp and the dissenters view side by side...very interesting
