Well i come home from work and find controversy LOL... Thinking, Rem0 and I are sitting here finding this very amusing..
Zew, I put a publicly facing email address, its on you're site, on this board to show you the potential.. if you're that narrow minded thats you're problem
I'll remove the email address and put your website one instead, where you're email address can be found.
I didnt put the contents of the emails and i wont.. but you came across as rude and arrogant in them, just like you are on here.
Right im gonna eat my tea

if everyone is so hardcore about creating this non-existent pissing match of dubstep vs. dnb, why would you want *anything* to do with a drum and bass only entity like bassdrive.
you can say everything and anything you want about drum and bass, the state of, the listeners of, etc etc etc... but you don't have a case why bassdrive is wrong in being exclusive to our genre of choice. bassdrive was founded in a city that is dominated by hip hop and house, much like drum and bass has always been relegated to the back rooms of events and smaller club nights. i sympathize, being part of a small, loosely knit collective in detroit where we don't even get representation at our own city's much-ballyhooed yearly music festival.
flooding zew's email is childish and completely detonates any future possibilities for discussion.
to most of us who've been producing, spinning or promoting drum and bass for several years now this ds/grime upheaval reads like an aped and lampooned sequel of the mass 2-step exodus of 2001.
but if this latest repackaging of electronic music is really as worthwhile and as here to stay as you say it is - why are you not starting your *own* god damn site? shit, be nice to zew long enough and he may even give you some advice on how to run and maintain a 24/7 music site.
personally i think it's all about klezmer accordians over 210 bpm gabber breaks, but i've been huffing paint for a few hours to the point my dog's toys are beginning to sing the christian contemporary girlband hits of 2003. now that's some shit.

i've been listening to bassdrive/pyro/jungletrain/lifefm for years. maybe the email idea was a mistake, but don't make it out to be "dubstep is trying to take over dnb" or any of this nonsense. that's ridiculous.

i think kidkut thought there was an interest on the bassdrive end and asked us to show that we would support it.
as for the dubstep v. dnb thing, you're right, it's dumb. keep in mind zew started the ball rolling saying he thought all dubstep was shit. in reality, i think there is a natural affinity between the scenes which is probably why kidkut went to zew in the first place.
we do have a number of outlets - rinsefm, gourmetbeats, darkfm, subfm, breaksfm... but the scene is growing, people are looking for more outlets, and more outlets are offering. someone probably will "start their *own* god damn site" sometime soon.
finally, zew wasn't very "nice"/professional when he came in here. even if he was annoyed he could have handled it in a more grown up way. and there are plenty of experienced people in this scene so i don't think we need to go out of our way to make it up to him in the hopes of getting advice.
if you decide to hang out here a bit (which you're welcome to), i'm sure you'll this to be a positive and friendly scene that generally has no time for pissing matches, etc.

temulent - mate, you got it ALL wrong. For starters, it's about getting more people exposed to the sound to see if they like it and if they do, share the musical wealth that dubstep and grime have to offer. Not about a pissing match! I mean wtf?! This is music man, not team sports or some shit! If Bassdrive gained a few extra listeners through the dubstep lot, that wouldn't listen otherwise, and they are exposed to good dnb, who's to say they won't get interested! It benefits everyone. Your post is being far too aggressive.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

i very much doubt it, i got told off for playing 2 non dnb tracks in a row on my show there and they weren't really that much different from dnb (hardcore and breakcore) ;o)
i don't understand why any of you would want to play on a station that doesn't represent your music and then some of you have the cheek to slag bassdrive off....bassdrive and jungletrain are strictly drum and bass and have been for years most of you know this already so why even bother?
you are all very welcome to try for a show on
www.leetradio.com, our music policy is anything goes as long as it's not phil collins, check out the front page see if there's a empty slot that suits in the schedule and then register on the forum and send phono a pm saying day and time you want (use gmt please), would be very good to hear some different stuff on there, let me know if any of you go for it ;o)

I find it pretty fucking stupid on their part(bassdrive) to pass on this opportunity...
consider for a second what they said "we are strictly dnb, 24/7"
fair play... Dubstep is drums and a bassline...
your move, you cock bastards--explain to be how dubstep isn't drum n bass... I can explain how it isn't, but I bet they can't... thats the beauty of our argument--we have one, you don't.

make your mind up, i see a lot of people slagging dnb off on this forum now you say dubstep is dnb? in that case lots of music is dnb cos it has drums and a bassline ;o)
leave bassdrive alone, try another station that has a more open music policy...or are you trying for the easy way out cos bassdrive already has a lot of listeners..that's pure cheek lol
