Minimum:
£3,465.37
Median:
£5,037.19
Maximum:

Quite a lot on there that hasn't been sold though. Massive Attack vs Burial, Alicia and One Of Us are the records I own that have gone for the most. Rip off bastards.

Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Value or worth?
I can't be bothered to input 1500 records into discogs, guess they'reaverage worth 5 quid though. Guessing dmz001 would go for the most.
What about my YouTube rips?!
Edit: just got a discogs account and it's easier than I thought to add records, might waste some time on this at work today!

Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Quick question out of curiosity, if you had the money, would you fork out say $150 for the rare record that you want?
Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Probably not, I'd feel too bad not spending it on something more important. I would have to have a lot of expendable money to do that.
Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Not unless I had a fortune, and even then I'd feel a bit of a mug. The reason I've got things like early dmz stuff is cos I'd be going to fwd and the first dmz night and spending ages hanging around Blackmarket, they sort of represent a time and memories, would seem weird to pay a fortune for something if I wasn't there to get it those years ago.lowphat wrote:Quick question out of curiosity, if you had the money, would you fork out say $150 for the rare record that you want?
Surely buying it now on discogs just wouldn't be the same.
I've got records that people would pay me that much for and I find it really hard to bring myself to sell them

Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Me too. I know I could sell a record for £150, but I know how quickly £150 goes/I could earn £150 anyway, so I'd rather just keep the record.Mr Hyde wrote:Not unless I had a fortune, and even then I'd feel a bit of a mug.lowphat wrote:Quick question out of curiosity, if you had the money, would you fork out say $150 for the rare record that you want?

And no, I definitely wouldn't pay 150 for a record.

Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Ive just started adding my collection to discogs. Ive done 88 of about 400 odd and this is what I've got:-
Collection Value Range
Minimum: £354.95 Median: £556.20 Maximum: £935.38
Most of the rest is shitty old garage, so probably wont be worth alot.

just counted and its approx £12 give or take a tenner
Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Why do people have discogs accounts? Do you guys sell stuff on there?
I haven't invested that much in collecting music, as long as I can hear the stuff I like in good quality.

My memory is pretty bad, can never remember which records I own. I never have to label my records with the artist/ track title.AxeD wrote:Why do people have discogs accounts? Do you guys sell stuff on there?

Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Sell stuff that I don't use anymore that's worth selling. Just easier than keeping my own catalogue of records, etc. especially with all the info, artwork included on discogs.AxeD wrote:Why do people have discogs accounts? Do you guys sell stuff on there?

Re: How much is your music collection worth?
Ah I see. I basically have an mp3 or wav of every record I own, except for a few vinyl only releases of course.
So the whole boom-shabap is in Itunes. But I see why it's ideal for selling etc..
