I only click links from people in my feed with similar tastes.
That and generally if a soundcloud link has comments plastered over every inch of it's waveform...
Somehow I've managed to avoid all this crap generic copycat music people on these forums seem to get so up in arms over, be it knock off trap, brostep, whatever.

Surely it has reached mainstream sporadically already since last summer at least.
I have been very consequent in my not liking trap. Then again, I was never big on the whole contemporary hiphop thing. Mind you, I bought into certain parts of it. Clams Casino did some amazing stuff (even then, his best tracks were out on that TRI ANGLE EP Rainforest which is far away from the likes of Lunice/TNGHT...and whatever came in the wake).

I'm also going to be consequent and say that Rustie tune is balls. No thank you sir, I'll pass

But I don't hate it more than say bro-step or that liquid Hospital D&B just because it is breaking into mainstream. I never disliked that because it too broke into mainstream at one point, I don't like it because it doesn't tick the boxes I'm into. I would be a happy man if I heard VIVEK or Death Grips, or Evian Christ on the radio. That has not happened.

Rustie's Dragonfly EP was ill doe. Some good sampling and I don't think it was that trappy. The melodies were golden.

this forum gets dumber and dumber when it comes to this stupid ass genre by the minute.

Pretty sure the lex luger tracks that have sold a combined tens of millions of units would qualify as mainstream... most of which were sold before the suburbs even knew what the fuck was going on. Not to mention flosstradamus were pretty mainstream before they started ripping off hardstyle tunes for white kids to jam to.

the harlem shake is the best thing to ever happen as its putting the final nail in this dumbass genre

Lex Luger was a rap producer before trap became a thing. Hold your mouth man. You're getting shit all over us.

Loads of people were making trap, before it was a "thing", same with dubstep, same with brostep, same with every damn genre before it hits mainstream appeal or settle on a genre name.
