I used to know a couple of producers who watermarked their tracks with their soundcloud addresses at the beginning of every tune. They used the speech thing in FL. Sounding so lame and cheesy. I actually laughed out loud everytime I listen to one of their tunes.

Don't do it man.

I read someone posted about not having a perfectly HQ. clean track on soundcloud for people to steal. If that is why you are doing this then I would suggest just making clips and posting them instead. Seriously man, some lame watermark like that just sounds silly.

IMO of course! :)

Is metasynth still the tool of choice to do this or is there anything a little more up to date now? :4:

I cringe every time I hear a watermark.
They always just completely take me out of the track.
Kind of the point? If you could hear the full track, high quality, without interruption anytime on sound cloud where's the incentive to buy the track? & fair enough if it's the argument about presenting your own work in the best possible light but for preview purposes I don't think a few second audio watermark is going to impact the impression of the listener too greatly

:D
the song being good is already an incentive enough to get me to purchase the song.

+1 for short samples/previews of the track, no need to puke all over the full track.

+2 For short preview clips, potentially done as a DJ mix too. :)

I said this elsewhere. This is For FL users maybe the program is also a 3rd party program as well.

I think (not sure, someone else can answer this or give a better example) Vandera does this with his mixes not sure if its his watermark trait or if it's just there to let you know it's him but pretty sure its a watermark

To give you an idea...

I'd really just go with the watermark idea though since you cannot recreate a sound 100% PERFECTLY unless someone shows you exactly how to make that sound or sends you that sound and even if they cut off the first 4 bars it would be completely noticeable.

You can also reform the watermark even further using your own vsts and pitchers and make it sound very nice especially if you're very musically talented.

In other words, don't JUST use the FL speech, form it to sound cooler and better using other vsts and what not. It really is a great tool and doesn't sound cheesy if you do it right.

"get that sample that says 'this is one dj you don't wanna fuck with' and play it on repeat at random pitches throughout the track"

Also I just did this with every sound and put it over one another it was funny.
