We didn't see each other very often
to the point that she rang me from a hospital just having had a baby.
I hadn't found anybody I liked more (yeah, I'm picky) and I knew she'd rather it had been mine
so it was cool
that relationship lasted several more years
we still didn't see each other that often
but it was intense and fulfilling when we were together.

Whether it is LDR or an open relationship, you'll see each other every 6 weeks; text; call; Skype; write letters. I don't see what's so hard about this.

Many Filipinos work abroad and leave their families for years. Going home only every two or three years. When there was no internet, they only wrote letters that took two weeks to arrive. Called once a month, not too long because it was expensive. They were gone for years, a decade, or two. You only had to sacrifice for 8 months, plus technology - two days to receive a letter, maybe an hour to answer an email, a minute to text/call back. Only in developed countries do I see this problem. I don't get it.
