I like their vocals a lot tbf, but their synths are really generic in most tracks like full on MT Yois in places but it's obvious why they get attention - 2 girls fronting the group.Dustwyrm wrote:Rather have Adventure club than

I'm almost in tears, we've connected so much in just 1 post

Like what mthrfnk said, I dig the fuck out of the vocals in their song Alive (all their other songs are trashy lyric wise). The only reason they get any hype is not just because it's two girls, but because of their grossly sexual songs
Example:
Two above average looking girls singing about stuff like this & into Brostep? What more could a 16-21 year old edmkid want in a girl?
Up until the drop I was really vibing to this to be honest, but the drop is garbage, and if you thought that was bad, listen to the vocals at 1:23

It hurts me how good the intro is. Like just hearing that the song would get a 9/10 from me. The drop brought it down to 4/10 and the breakdown vocals just killed all hope for the song. 1/10
Krewella's synths are bad and I don't like their drums. I'm almost in rant mode over here, especially considering that I've had numerous encounters with them in person it's only made me hate them not only as artists but as individuals. Call it jealousy sure, but they damn sure don't deserve to play at all these huge festivals.

Re: Adventure Club
I'ma lay out all my cards for you: I wasn't aware of the fact that the video you linked to was Skream, a well respected pioneer of the genre, and one of the first dubstep producers, one who also cast in the spotlight by having the media write rave reviews of his work -- yeah, I wiki'd it, can't remember all the details, but you get the pic, right?dubunked wrote:are you fucken serious m8. i was linking that video to bring some good music to a thread about the bro-est of the bro. you're talking about skream here m8. not cool.
Even so, I was aware that the content of the video wasn't what I was expecting - brostep - and I recognised the difference, and I clearly stated in my post that it wasn't bad, but I, at this point, have absolutely nothing to gauge "real dubstep" to, so I'm not in the position to actually pass real judgement or criticism on something I know nothing about -- even though I said I liked it. As an aside, I actually found myself slowly making a transition into more "traditional dubstep" through Rusko. Even so, I'm not in possession of a lot of his material, but what I have has really made an impression on me. I would have a more wide selection of dubstep to appreciate right now, but I'm working on a budget -- I have a five year old phone, that I'm typing this on, a laptop I use to "produce" on that's still running Win XP; you don't want to know what kind of processor and other ancient technology it's damaged cover is hiding.
Anyway, I'm still in the honeymoon phase of my relationship with "dubstep," at the point where I'm still obsessed with what initially attracted me to this genre -- the aggressiveness of brostep.
I won't act like a poseur and try and come across as a genuine fan of dubstep; I'm not there yet, as I'm still finding out what I like about this genre. Today it's Knife Party and Kill the Noise, a couple months ago it was Skrillex, who knows what I'll like tomorrow? I'm really fucking capricious, but so's the rest of humanity -- ahh, the curse of averageness.
Anyway, I still haven't made my mind up about what I like musically, and I'll be sure to check out some real dubstep -- once I get some income. So call me ignorant; call me ill-informed for liking brostep, but that's what's got me in this place ... in the first place.
I hope to become some dubstep sage one day - like some of you guys, but right now, I'm just soaking in the sights.
We cool?

With lyrical gems like: "I'm your kitty cat, your back is like my scratching post," and "Make me scream like I- like I seen a ghost," and annoying MT basses, people take them seriously? WTF? Creating that took no thought.
How come Krewella even gets the honor to headline fuckn festivals? What's this world come to?

LOL!!!
Something about them just smells fishy. I mean, besides the fact that their music obviously fuckn sucks, their wikipedia page just seems biased. Also they called their mix series - or whatever - "Troll Mixes." That is just ... weird.

2 girls, making dubstep with potentially catchy lyrics sells festival tickets = $$$$$$$$$$GenericNameHere wrote:LOL!!!

It's not really surprising tbh, they were "under the radar" for a while probably because their stuff is quite generic (albeit well produced mix wise) and then they started getting repped by some artists nd promo channels and then pretty much blew up after Ultra because people were like "omgz girls in underwear singing dubstepz" and they got seen/repped by some of the biggest artists there.

GenericNameHere - it's chill m8. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. But better late then never. I thought you joking tbh. Yeah I found "real" dubstep through brostep too, but that was back in 2009 when brostep was new and still good / not yet overdone. I'm talking about Rusko, Bar9, some Skream, some Benga, Emalkay (When I Look at You was huge at the time), Flux, etc. I still like some old brostep. You Got to Know comes to mind as one of my favs. I like Flux a lot even today. But the Skrillex sound has just been done way too much. It all sounds the same.
Re: Adventure Club
fuck man, When I Look at You was so big - first time I heard that in a club (like a club that played pop house or rnb, nothign else) I dropped a fucking load.dubunked wrote:GenericNameHere - it's chill m8. edit: same with this Skream remix, I was really into DnB at the time then heard this shit drop at a gig for the first time, was brilliant.

I love that this bashing adventure club thread has turned into a bash krewella thread. I didn't realize that people had such vitriol against these brostep people, lol.
