You call me a stupid tnuc yet can't grasp a simple simile? Stop fixating on the subtractive thing. That's some narrow minded woman argument type shit. Spend 20 minutes harping on one word and not seeing the big picture.

How does knowing synthesis well equate to knowing all the vsts that are on the market? OP's obviously just looking for some suggestions he may not have tried and you come in with your standard hipster douche response that's completely irrelevant. Why do you even bother?

Don't turn this into the "appeal to authority" thread m8s. Where is that thread btw? I can't find it, it's weird.

Gribble - I know Massive and Sylenth like the back of my hand. I am currently learning FM8 right now. But that doesn't mean my patches sound realistic and have a full body. Replying with "just learn synthesis" is not very helpful and it's a little rude. I am not at a place where I can design my own sounds in FM8 yet, and the presets are kinda limited. I will continue mastering FM8 of course, but I would like some side synths that also get the job done. I think they can provide some interesting and unique results because they use unique parameters. Sorta the same reason Massive is so great - because it has all of the wavetables, whereas other synths just have sine, saw, square, triangle, and maybe a few others.

And seriously man, chill out. Don't call people tnucs. Try getting along with others. Otherwise why would you even post here if you're just gonna argue and be a dick to everyone?

You're such a loser! I dont even want to speak to you, I already got my point across on the last page. All you do is go on about nonsense, I really think you're the biggest idiot here. You're ruining the thread, people don't want to read your complaints about me so get over it!

And yeah - synthesis is irrelevant! :u:

Btw, I just read the whole thread...

If you want brass - Arturia do a great VST : http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/pro ... intro.html

I just bought this MAMMOTH Kontakr Library : http://www.fablesounds.com/BBB-Menu-frame.htm

Was a deal, got it for 400 through a band-discount my mate has - though it is STUPIDLY expensive otherwise. (£1500)

I said learn synthesis because you seem to thing there is a vst that will give you the sound you're after and i dont think there is. If you want real you're best off going for a sample library.

I like artificial sounds and love playing with synths, which is why I said about learning more. FM takes years to master and is great for all types of sounds. Modal has a lot of potential for creating realistic sounds. Hell, even Massive can make ok instrument sounds - try a comb filter with a bit of resonance, and use the noise osc, it can sound like a plucked string sound.

This is a cool vid, I think it's a repost here:

As for lounge lizard - that's a vst that is trying to sound like an electric piano, not even a real piano.

And sunklow is a tnuc, sorry to ruin your thread but the guy just goes on.

^ phaeleh uses it. /thread. nothing else to say. the pros use it and that's all that matters. I don't even need to give any justification or reasoning whatsoever. phaeleh uses it, and that's it. :P so where is that appeal to authority thread?

I see - so those that have been around a while and have knowledge, are allowed to be stnuc?

You asked for real instruments, duh. I use it, but it is emulating an electronic instrument.

lmao plays the victim card. All the checkboxes have been ticked at this point I think. Is Gribble VirtualMark's trolling account only or are the two interchangeable?
