Can I watch it at home with my surround sound and big tv or is it must see in theater?

Call me odd but i have yet to see a 3d film and avoid the $20+ fee to see modern flicks if I can in spite of IMAX theater and such being less than a block from where I live.
Pacific Rim in theater was necessary just due to the sound design as a producer (and I'm a Kaiju fanboy since Gamera)

I just have yet to see an ad for something I would want to see in 3d, even the Transformers nostalgia in me didn't seem worth it.
If they did something like The Lawnmower Man I'd be all over it.
Was all about that VR tech back when

Amped about Oculus Rift atm for anything.

Life of Pi was pretty good in 3D. Probably the best use of 3D I have seen.
