When someone writes shit they know it. It isn't constructive to tell them they're shit it's only disheartening. Everyone in this contest has skills. You act as if it's that easy to get big in the "scene". There are hundreds and hundreds of brilliant producers out there that either are lazy and that's why they're not big or they just don't know how to properly utilize their social resources. If you feel the need to talk shit on someone do it somewhere else. I'm not trying to be an asshole I'm just not into putting up with unconstructive negativity. If you read my suggestions you will see that the ones I felt needed severe improvement it was stated.

I didn't even listen to any of the tracks I'm just saying that there's no way that every single one of them is "amazing". Obviously you can pick out good things in any track but when it comes down to it, it's all personal preference. For example, Rusko is obviously a "good" producer but I don't bump his shit because I don't like it. Just like I don't bump any deep dub regularly.

I'm definitely not against you having your own opinion. I have a large appreciation for all genres. I will not let up on the fact that every producer in this comp appealed to me on a personal level. Azuk thank you for the reinforcement. I did not say that they are all "amazing". I did however give them the respect they diserved and congratulated them on their work. All of these producers created something that had great qualities. Especially for only having 48 hours to do so. Once again I respect your opinion just don't try to form mine. I plainly explained in the description of the review that all of the reviews made by me where my personal opinions and no one elses. I also encouraged all other producers to give their feedback as well. Just as long as the feedback is helping someone and not mindless chatting garbage.

Mine lacked structure, had a decent half-finished mix and was just bass after bass. I honestly don't see how it made past round 1.

To be honest I think it had everything to do with your sound design. Your bassis were really clean and had great movement IMO. Like I said in my review though it was incomplete as a whole. I still haven't received much feedback on my track. I did get a little feedback from icetickle, I think that's his username. I apologize if I got that wrong dude. But I appreciate the feedback you gave.

Which ones? THe sounds design process was a mess, and tbh I didn't really like them.

I agree with you, az. It's just a bunch of the same bass noise with a snare. But you know how it is here, people hear a distorted saw wave and fuckin go crazy

I've been a musician for many many years. If there's any advice I can give it's this. Learn to take a compliment and appreciate your creations. I understand how hard it is to be confident in your music. I've been through several personal battles in terms of liking my own music. One thing I learned is, your song/songs will never be complete to you until you learn to appreciate them for there qualities and stop trying to combat their imperfections. This will only drive you absolutely out of your mind and you will eventually end up filibustering the song which the end result will be throwing it out. All the while, you could have allocated your time into a positive progression instead of beating your head into a wall, figuratively speaking. By no means does this mean take your tracks with a grain of salt but appreciate everything you do. The ideas for your track in the competition for instance that people enjoyed can be applied to another track to spice it up our give it that one missing part that you needed. If people are giving you good feedback on it then trust that you are on the right beat and path. You are your greatest source of feedback in some cases, for trusting your gut is most of the time the right thing to do. But you can also end up standing in your own way. One of our jobs as musicians is to inspire people. If people are inspired by the smallest creation of yours, for as brief a time, then you did your job. Obviously you write music for yourself, I know I do. It's a form of therapy for me personally. So I'm not saying do whatever the masses are asking for. You have to have some kind of emotional attachment to your songs. But don't let the only thing standing in your way of releasing great material be you. I'm not an expert, or even that great with wording things, but I hope you get the point I'm trying to make.
