Miren & Jurkhands:
I'm putting this together because the forum is becoming notorious for being unfriendly, a large contributor to this is because we get a lot of young kids (perhaps with a sense of entitlement admittedly) who know one producer/track and ask for recommendations. It happens with annoying regularity, but the most annoying bit is some of the vitriol some of our more vocal members spit in these peoples direction. I am going to start being more militant to members who treat newcomers like that. It's also the one of the things that gets reported the most, the most repetitive complaint. I'm also constantly surprised at how many non Dubstep requests we get.
However there is no alternative really than saying search for your self.
In future a link to the sticky guide of genres/producers and saying you might want to check the 'heavy metal inspired Dubstep' category is you. And closing the thread. Done, everyone is happy. This isn't a guide for regular posters (unless they heard something new and would like a decent starting step to finding out about a genre unfamiliar to them.
So tl;dr
There's quite a few reasons for me to put together a short beginners guide to Dubstep and related genres.

I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

cheers for the explanation. better not comment on any "help me find tunes like X"-threads anymore then.

Putting genres into catergorys and naming artists in these catergorys are just gonna start arguments over which style is which and which genre each artist should be in, and will completely derail from the original plan that pete is trying to create imo

i said autechre because they definitely have some breakcore influence in their sound. i only heard a couple xanopticon tracks.
nice to see another breakcore enthusiast on here, though!

I genuinely have no idea what counts as 130, but I added it in.

what lol, what is objekt doing in there?
I swear before i made jokes about how 130 is everything at 130, then someone said that its just a name for a vibe, a vibe that objekt clearly doesnt fit in with?
