No love for Machine Code - Velocity?

I know you're not hating on the combo of Current Value and Dean RodellJurkhands wrote:^ lol

Honestly I used to like them and their separate releases of the past but recently it's just become really normal dry dnb. Like that track there is just really really boring. Can't believe they've ended up this way.

Re: Releases Of The Year (so far)
I dunno I considered it a throwback to old tech step. Their stuff is always amazingly engineered and Velocity had a bunch of great tunes on it.wolf89 wrote:Honestly I used to like them and their separate releases of the past but recently it's just become really normal dry dnb. You can tell Rodell's influence on CV with the techno type sounds CV doesn't normally use (hell most of the LP was made on a modular rig) They have a new EP coming soon too, personally I love the blend of sounds they are using even in cookie cutter arrangements.
I mean of all people you can expect multiple LPs from CV Machine Code etc a year which is nice.

Re: Releases Of The Year (so far)
I'm just really not feeling new Machine Code album. It's technically well produced but it's so rhythmically flat and all the sounds are super clean and repetitive across the album, plus it's kind of cheesy. Like Current Value for a period was really creative, and Dean Rodell had some heavy stuff. this is just the most generic techy dnb to my ears. It doesn't have that dark gritty vibe old techstep has. Just feels like all the effort went into production quality over making good tunes.
Re: Releases Of The Year (so far)
do you guys rate techstep, seen people saying pretty neg things about it online, but i've really been feeling no u turn and especially trace
