Re: Glastonbury 2015
Some of the fiercest arguments between couples/friends I've ever seen have taken place on the drive home from Glasto. Last year one of my mates had what can only be described as a hissy fit in a Tesco car park when we stopped to let people out

Our cars battery cables had corroded (somehow) last year and my and my gf spent like 5 hours sat about waiting for an AA van to turn up to fix it, the had to drive home after lugging our shit 2 miles across the site. long.

I had an AA man once tell me that their busiest day of the year is the Monday after Glastonbury.Johnlenham wrote:Our cars battery cables had corroded (somehow) last year and my and my gf spent like 5 hours sat about waiting for an AA van to turn up to fix it, the had to drive home after lugging our shit 2 miles across the site. long.

Getting there by car Tuesday night and sleeping in the queue though. First entry Wednesday morning, pick of the camping spots etc.

Re: Glastonbury 2015
I'll already be on-site with my tent pitched in a private, fully catered field (with access to shower facilities) while you're sleeping in the queue then, being staff is the tits, the lady who runs the catering truck in the staff field is such a legend, I routinely found myself hassling her for coffee at 5am (after the truck was closed) whilst gurning like a loon and she never once complained at me for waking her up so she could do me a drink haha

Had two showers last year. Both were amazing.
Re: Glastonbury 2015
I'd say a good 70% of cars did that last year, we rocked up around 3/4am and the queue was hench already. Then late comers started to queue jump vs the gates opened and people got properly annoyed. We managed to get our regular spot in Oxylers though, so it was all ok.wub wrote:Getting there by car Tuesday night and sleeping in the queue though. Re: Glastonbury 2015
I just take a day off for recovery, get in all my clothes in t eh wash and a 20min shower then collapse.
This is the first year on the coach manily because 4 of us live in london now so it should be easier and less aggro, I think two people who got the bus last year arrived like an hour after us.
No clue about favourtie camping spots though, usually means fuck all when everything is a mile from everything else haha, Ill go maybe a few camps from the dance bit like 2 years ago, was a pretty good spot (thanks wub/magma)

Last couple of years we've ended up getting home, shower bed then up at 5am to catch a flight to Almeria. Being on the beach at 11am the morning after Glasto is a perfect detoxJohnlenham wrote:I just take a day off for recovery, get in all my clothes in t eh wash and a 20min shower then collapse.

It's the fucking tits being over there...particularly if you get the gate access correct. God willing, shrimp flag will be flying there again next yearJohnlenham wrote:No clue about favourtie camping spots though, usually means fuck all when everything is a mile from everything else haha, Ill go maybe a few camps from the dance bit like 2 years ago, was a pretty good spot (thanks wub/magma)

Re: Glastonbury 2015
my mrs got as far as the booking confirm for the bus time slot, only for it to be sold out upon selection. Long.
Re: Glastonbury 2015
we had this too. all 3 of us got through, then it said no longer available after we chose busesJohnlenham wrote:my mrs got as far as the booking confirm for the bus time slot, only for it to be sold out upon selection. Long.

Re: Glastonbury 2015
Demand might be higher this time as its the last one before a fallow year.
So if you don't get tickets Sunday, you not be able to go to Glastonbury again until 2017.

Re: Glastonbury 2015
Is there no ticketswap market over there, or are Glasto tickets coupled to your name?
Here, if a festival is really hyped, I usually just wait till 1-2 days before it starts and buy a
ticket from someone.
