Imo, that's bullshit and fundamentally undermines the notion of dreaming. If you're aware of the fact that you can jump off and not die because the 'reality' you experience wouldn't impose the same restrictions as those of the waking reality, then you aren't submitting to the dream's reality and therefore aren't actually dreaming, but imagining.nousd wrote:ah, actually you could with a little practice
like, say, rather than being scared at the top of a cliff
you can become conscious in your dream & jump off
so in your case, you could brutally murder your folks
& presumably resolve a lot of your pent up resentment
then start over with your new (real) folks
please don't get this suggestion confused sigs,
because they don't put killers in gaol with Asian chicks
(unless you do it in Bali)

maybe but it feels like I'm still dreaming, rickyarbino wrote:Imo, that's bullshit and fundamentally undermines the notion of dreaming. It doesn't seem to hinder the integration of experiences into the psychological process...
I can't see what submitting to a "dream's reality" has to do with the dream being effective.
Have you never had a dream wherein external realities (such as sounds or physical contact) have affected the content of the dream?
Dreams seem to be able to adapt to all sorts of inputs and influences, including, imo, our conscious involvement.

Re: what age can you hit parents?
It hinders in sense that you aren't psychologically processing a dream you aren't having.
I'm not sure what your second paragraph is getting at. My view is that the external realities belong to something other than the dream and that in acknowledging them over those of the dream we effectively emerge from the dream, to the waking state. To me, that would imply that the things you 'see', 'hear', or otherwise 'sense' in a dream are what it's contents consist of. In acknowledging these realities as false and being able to overcome the fear imposed by them we've actually stopped dreaming haven't we? It doesn't make sense to suggest that someone could actually improve their dream experiences by doing something which forces them to abstain from dreaming.

Re: what age can you hit parents?
we disagree as to what constitutes the dream
would you consider injecting yourself into your dreams & see what I'm contending?
it's not that difficult to do
like programming yourself to wake up at 5am,
remarkably effective
matter of pre-arranging to become self-conscious during dream sleep
sceptical? try it

I know what you're talking about, lucid dreaming. I'm of the view that it isn't actually dreaming, but imagination. Can't dream unless you let yourself go.

I agree with ya. I'm a native English speaker (I'm also half Japanese :3) and I can speak the language not fluent enough but learning it was not that hard compare to learning German and Italian >.< it is hard to learn and comprehend but I don't think it's "that" hard to learn like what other people think of it.OGLemon wrote: one of that hardest languages to learn for a native English speaker imo
