You chat some real shitHarkat wrote:I want the UK road people to stop trying to do trap entirely lol
UK trap is completely uncreative compared to the american stuff...Atlanta and Chicago are moving forward so fast and guys like Footsie are sitting around making the most fucking basic rebore hat roll trap beats
What does electronic music need more/less of in 2015?

I hear ya. I'm just getting tired of hearing tracks with sounds really deep, dirty, crunchy, soulful, cunning, whatever you are after, but there's no melodies, no progression, no variation.hubb wrote:although I agree with the potential of this way of laying it out, because of how it breeds quality - I must admit that I personally haven't experienced any new sort of sound design for a couple of years... there was granular fx and a tiny bit of the fm type of fx that people have taken in and used on bass that slightly expanded the reese sound but most of it is still 2004 or so territory imo._Agu_ wrote:Less progressive bigroom house and edm trap. Less tracks with amazing sound design but which are musically crap. More percussion. More low-midrange (aka more warmth). Less ultra compressed white noise on the top of everything. I'm okay with tracks being loud. Less Native Instruments, less Nexus. More real instruments. Less cheesy female vocals which crappy lyrics.Stereotypical more bass.More cowbell. More creativity. Less growls, more reeses. Some new talented unknown artists coming up. Less ads with edm playing on the background, makes it look worse every year. More 140-175bpm, less 100-128bpm.

I'll just take what comes my way

ok lol if you think chief keef is wank, maybe we're on different wavelengths here
but this UK tune
vs
or the raider klan sound, or that OVO stuff, even fully mainstream stuff like Rae Sremmund or whatever. IMO much more creative than any of the new UK urban stuff.

Re: What does electronic music need more/less of in 2015?
I've pretty much hit a dead end with music the last year or so, there's very little being released any more I like

Re: What does electronic music need more/less of in 2015?
more sampling would be cool - seems like flipping a nice sample that hardly anyones knows went from being pretty popular to pretty much non-existent. and i'm not on about getting some rnb vocal and chopping it up to make some grime beat or house remix but flipping nice instrumentation that was once played by professionals at some point...
