really?
them guys are generic as they come imo. ulterior motive have a few alright tunes tho
Ulterior Motive LP was very underwhelming imo. Octane & DLR album that came out some time ago pretty much defined what Headz & Dispatch output would sound like for the next couple of years.
yeah ulterior motive album was really meh
and metalheadz is very hit & miss these days
really lost interest in dnb again halfway through last year
and tbh most of the dnb i got in the last couple years was either on the heavier darkstep/crossbreed side or 90s shit
I think especially afterglow is just very well put together but yeah I wish breakcore had more bass or that jungle had more design... so personally it's always sort of the cross sections that top it for me idea wise or design wise... but with that said almost all of it is ok in a specific situation .. except the hormone stuff like chase n status, sub focus and pendulolz
Teebee - Blacksciencelabs
Photek - Modus Operandi
Goldie - Timeless
honorable mentions
Source Direct - Exorcise The Demons
Roni Size / Reprazent - New Forms
Ed Rush & Optical - Wormhole
these are the ones I can think of; there are probably more and better picks. I don't enjoy dnb very much to be honest. it's fun once in a while; had a great time at outlook and all but that's about it.

yeah i kinda agree
never got why most dnb guys think it's ok to get some random singer on one or two of their tunes. and they all sound the same and have nearly identical lyrics.
you're not dj fresh and you're not gonna score a hit. just let it go
that it's a totally different scene and whenever headsy types have a go at it, it ends up being shit. maybe even more than the hospital/breakbeat kaos fodder
ah, now I understand what you're talking about; I thought you were speaking of the Sigmas and Wilkinsons, who did get a random singer on their tunes and had considerable success with it.
generally I agree, but Oblique is a beauty.

btw stuff like this still being made today? apart from Paradox / Fanu? and speaking of albums and Fanu, Daylightless was a good collection of beats, too.
