very true, cos I think he's more concerned about the rhythm most of the time than producing earth-shattering bass or disgusting noises.

I used to play bass in a few different bands, mostly playing tight hiphop or jazz-funk, and I played with one or two very talented drummers - as a bassist, particularly in funk-based music, you learn to become 'just another drum' - I had to think as an extension to the drummer and lock in as tight to him as I could.

So think in those terms - write a beat, then work with something simple like an 808 sub and experiment with creating interesting riddims from drums and subs.

most people who posted here forget that dubstep is a LOT about sub-bass/bass and the ways that you can play around with it.

i know that most people think that there's a limited number of things that you can do with bass, but be creative and keep dubstep bass-oriented, will ya?

how bout study a lil bit of psychology on the subconscious, a.k.a KNOW THY SELF, this helps in all walks of life overall though ;)

the general tips section on here is one the best threads imo other than the dubstep bible, for words of knowledge and encouragement
