Got to meet Thurston Moore as a youth. He is very tall, still have a Sister t-shirt.

i am a sy obsessive too... i actually like the geffen stuff and the later albums almost as much as daydream nation etc, albeit in different ways... 'murray street' in particular is a great example of how they're still relevant. i found 'a thousand leaves' slightly hard work but still absolutely rinsed it anyway :)

i spent most of my teenage years watching bands who *wished* they were sonic youth.. bands like urusei yatsura, ikara colt, etc. i love them too though, don't get me wrong. far better to worship thurston moore than robert plant innit!
haha well it really wasn't that exciting their music sort of confused us at first.

It wasn't till later that i personally realized that i was pretty lucky to see them in that context and it did inspire me in my own musical path.
