i picked my country but all i get is: Sorry, but that bike model cannot be found.
So we got the two schools of thought: mountain (pimped) vs. hybrid. Hmmm... intuitively and for no particular reason i feel drawn to hybrid. I'm no extreme sports guy.
This is all really helpful, i should probably get my ass down to a bike shop... thanks

Huh, weird. In that case go to http://www.specialized.com and look for "Sirrus Sport" and "Crosstrail". Again, those are just examples, hence not all that relevant. The pics:
Specialized Citybike
Specialized Crossbike
I picked Specialized for no particular reason and can say based on personal experience that the Crosstrail ones are pretty good. Then again, as I said, ThinKing definitely does have a point. It's all a matter of taste and of how seriously you want to get into cycling.
Just go to a couple of bike shops and figure out what you like best, really.

i really wouldnt go into halfords, a woman came into my bike shop who had bought a bike for Halfords, and the headset snapped and she lost her four front teeth! Halfords do cars not bikedatura wrote:you can get specialist street bikes - i'd just head into a halfords and ask them what they'd recommend
Not at all advice (sorry) but I heard ages ago you can pop a D-lock with a aerosol can, is it true? Don't worry I don't want to nick bikes, just been curious about it since I have heard it.

its something that everyone read in fight club - if you get nitro in a can you can supposedly freeze the locks and then shatter them with a hammer and screwdriver/chisel, however i'm not sure if it actually works as you can't really freeze metal like water and therefore make it smashable can you?Legendary wrote:Not at all advice (sorry) but I heard ages ago you can pop a D-lock with a aerosol can, is it true?
