Im fed up of all the ignorant blanket statements on this forum, the music press is wank

sorry bruv, that was a bit lazy of me. BUT: i make blanket statements for effect, it's a good rhetorical tool when making an argument. my argument, in this case, is that the music press is wank. which it is. if it wasn't, i'd have some examples of good (any?) dubstep articles to show our friend here.

it's all about the web - the music press has, in the last ten years, in various places in different ways, consolidated its press-release-fixated hype agenda, fragmented into specialisms, and seen sales downturns and magazine closures too numerous to even begin to mention.

so yeah, it wasn't an ignorant blanket statement. just a blanket statement.

i read the atm mag article, and i didn't think it was that good, it has not mentioned half the scene who from what i can see have played there part, it just seems like fringe journalism, not really digging deep.

if the main stream media are not going to support dubstep, then i would of thought at least the dubstep bloggers would.

I have to say it's really all about online coverage for dubstep, though from my understanding of the origins of the dubstep a look at the XLR8R coverage of Horsepower might be worthwhile.
On the dubstep and the media tip, I'm just about to start putting together a radio documentary on the origins of dubstep over the next few months.
