I think what you can learn from this is…Serox wrote:rewiring with other apps, any more details?RANDOM TRIO wrote:Its done in subtractor with shit load of re wireing. then picth n modulated.can be achived in albino easier though.
Appreciate that some if not all artists work at a lower level than it may seem. There is no one fast track solution to sounding the way you want to sound (I appreciate you didn’t start the thread, so this is aimed at whoever)
There are so many variables that there’s never going to be an exact solution.
Edit: I did just type up how I made a sound/line similar to spongebob…but it was too specific to using a sample transformer in reaktor to sequence pre recorded reaktor synthesizer notes.

Learning synthesis is all well and good.
GL on replicating sounds by trying to guess wich snyth to use and how to set it to sound right.
Thor is in no way my snyth of choice, way better ones out there for sure.
Massive, standard.

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
send me a pm with details of the software you are using and I will help you to enable it.TROOPA wrote:yea can some one help me aswell i gota a keyboard that i can hook up thru the usb port but no sound is coming out ,,,,dudes?????

Actually, coki basses are easy in Reason.. Subtractor. Square wave, add a touch of the FM knob, layer with filtered sub, combinate, distort, add chorus/reverb/phaser/parametric eq to taste, filter & distort again, filter again, distort again, filter again & tie the filter cut off to an lfo, adsr or sequence the fecking automation....
Voila!
most synths have the same basic controls, so similar sounds are achievable regardless of the synth (hardware or software). They generally have pitch controls (cent, octave, pitch bend), lfo's (sine, saw, pulse, s&h) , adsr's (or multistage envelopes) & filters (lowpass, highpass, bandpass, band reject/notch, comb+/- or state variable filters, all with different poles).
Repeat Mantra....
Amen.

Re: Coki Bassline's
i was playing around with carbon and got this spongebob-ish sound, it's not exact, more better near the middle...hmmm i should have taken out the third osc.Djprojekts wrote:Hi all im just wondering if any one can point me to any help on making bassline's like coki does?

here's the synth settings (in a picture form, sorry) i couldn't be bothered to type the settings, it may not be what you're after...but if you can applie this to a synth you use, i'd say you're halfway there, hope it helps

honestly, it doesn't matter whether man uses reason or anything else. A sound like that can be achieved with many a synth. It's really bugging me that people seem to think that these sequencers have some sort of entrylevel to them. Each and every one is just as good as the other. Using reason doesn't mean you're some sort of novice. trust.EFA wrote:This fo real? why are you all trying so hard to sound like someone elses basslines? if people spend their time trying to emulate/only draw influences from other dubstep producers then everything will end up sounding really similar
EDIT - yes i realise that may be a generalisation and a bit bleak, but one of the things that made me love this music so much is that it draws influences from many different types of music, if everyone starts drawing influences from within dubstep only then its fucked
slay me if you will for this

...actually all you need to do is buy the VST Coki plug in and press the Spongebob button. Once you've copied his sound to the exact letter, simply sit back and wait for everyone to pat you on the back and tell you how clever you are.

Just wanted to get those messy styles of bassline, wether its a VST or a type of oscillator. And to dubluke do you even produce? Or u just sit on this forum all day ?!?!?!?! lolWNorwood Cassette Library wrote:No need for slaying - i'll second that statement.dubluke wrote:if everyone starts drawing influences from within dubstep only then its fucked

Try taking a standard sine/saw/square wave..
Add waveshaping by either offsetting the pitch of one oscillator to the other for phase distorion or using a distortion unit.
Distort it again with another distortion unit.
Filter it with either a lowpass, bandpass or band reject filter (Notch)........
You should be laughing by this point with a disgustingly fat bass sound...
You could even draw your own sample wave shape using an audio editor like Adobe Audition. Chuck that into your sampler for distortion and filtering..!
---------------
Why is everyone so scared of sounding like one another and the dubstep scene dying? People still play classical music, jazz, blues, rock, punk, soul, hip hop and dnb even though those styles have passed their heyday.
Good music endures the test of time.
Someone may come along and use coki as an influence, yet create an even better set of tunes than coki did. That would be sick, and I for one, can't wait to hear 'em!
