I had the man in Virgin search the system for half the records I wanted. He looked gutted when he couldn't find any. He'd just been boasting to me about how now they're called Zavvi's they have a much wider selection of independent music and they're getting more vinyl in apparently... We'll see.

I bought a Rinse FM mix CD though and there's a great Banksy book in there... might be in HMV too you never know... that DVD sounds worth checking though... wonder who's got more tits HMV or Virgin?

Yeah in my local Hoooomv the dubstep is mangled in with all the dance crap, takes ages to siv through but on the odd chance i manage to find some alright stuff.

HWV in southampton used to be onit for vinyl a few years ago. Now its not so good :roll:

I've been working in HMV for around 2 years now and we've slowly lost all our vinyl and over half our dance space. I've tried pleading with the management but it just isn't "commercially viable"

I do try to stock as much dubstep as possible and have managed to seperate it from the crappy handbag house music that seems to be taking over the shelves.

It would seem tinternet record shops have truly taken over the underground music market, at least for those of us who don't live in London.

Don't hate HMV, afterall, if more people bought specialist music from high street stores, they would stock a lot more of it.

By the way, Zavvi is shite.
