UK music scene better than the US
some US urban centers are "badass" for the simple fact that if i walk down the wrong street with the wrong color t-shirt i will get shot.mech84 wrote: no competition, its just in music the US and UK get compared a lot.
i get the impression that the US see's its self as the bad ass daddy when it comes to urban culture and music.
but as i hear this behavior being glamorized in the latest gangster rap booming out of a kiddies' mercedes his dad bought him, i realize that the "badassness" in the urban music scene isnt the same as the badass on the streets.
maybe yall across the pond have experienced this in your own culture?

thank you for turning a serious music discussion into a slanging match you prik. it's people like you keeping Latvian ballroom dancing from making it bigThump Rat wrote:Racist. argh it's not slowed down Yemenese drum n folk you tit. it actually derives from Polish tango, do some research before you start making ill formed assumptions. Latvian ballroom is a melting pot of so many different sounds and dances and that's what makes it so special. it's the sound of the future and you know it. Yemenese drum n folk ran out of good ideas years ago
what are you on?!?! the uk hip-hop sence is sic! !Joe C wrote:uk hip hop scene is dire
in terms of whats better, uk or us hip-hop you cant compare them, totally different kettle of fish, uk has that raw brithish grit that i love and it doesnt take it take itself too seriously, plus theres none (or hardly any) of that gangster bollocks that the us has.
but dont get me wrong, i love us hip-hop.
Thats my rant over...

there is also no one really pushing it and doing it well on the overground, there is also this total bitchy "past generation will always be better" kinda thing.Consoul wrote:what are you on?!?! the uk hip-hop sence is sic! !Joe C wrote:uk hip hop scene is dire

wise words. the Latvians are definitely better at ballroom than the Yemenese are at drum n folkozols man wrote:oiiiiiiiii. ill have no one taking the piss out of latvians. my dad is latvian and ill have u know that we r a very musical people, unlike the fuckin english who like to do nothing other then football hooliganism or just get stupidly pissed when in a communal situation
UKHH is a little bit pants, there r some decent producers which i rate but generaly its contrived... also the only reason there is no "gangster bollocks" in ukhh is cos theres not really any criminal element involved in that scene...Joe C wrote:there is also no one really pushing it and doing it well on the overground, there is also this total bitchy "past generation will always be better" kinda thing.Consoul wrote:what are you on?!?! the uk hip-hop sence is sic! !Joe C wrote:uk hip hop scene is dire
